I painted Jesus' face inspired by the link of Turin.
Acrylic painted on canvas.
Size: 60 x 60 cm
A while now I heard and read a lot about the link of Turin. Completely fascinated by how God has put this here for generations to wonder ... This imprint on the shroud they can not explain. A 3D technology that did not exist at this time. In addition, they can determine that the body was lifted off the ground when the imprint came on the link joint. For those of you who have not read and heard about the link link ... check it out! Amazing!
I just had a burning need to paint Jesus' face from the link. I got the exact measurements on the canvas, and started painting. It has been so powerful to sit and paint Jesus' face from the link of Turin.
Our precious Jesus who chose to be abused and in the worst way. Over 600 lashes on the body. All joints in the body were out joints. The face looked swollen and full of hematomas after abuse. Broken nose. Not a crown of thorns on his head, but a bush of thorns pressed down on Jesus' head.
Precious Jesus, our Savior and King, paid an incredible price for you and me to be saved!
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities. The punishment was upon him, that we might have peace, and by his wounds we are healed. We for all wild who get, we each turned to his own way. But the Lord let the guilt that fell on all of us hit him. He was mistreated, and he was afflicted, but he did not open his mouth, like a lamb being led away to be slaughtered, and like a sheep that is silent when they mow it. He did not open his mouth.
